Assigning storage locations using Bulk Add

Procedure

  1. From the LDMS menu bar, click Tasks > Storage Management.
  2. Click the Bulk Add tab.
  3. Under Storage Structure, find the container where you want to store specimens.
  4. Optional: On the right side of the screen, enter any criteria for the specimens you want to store.
    If no criteria is specified, all specimens available for storage will be listed after the next step.
  5. From the LDMS tool bar click the Execute button.
  6. From the search results, select the specimens to be assigned a storage location.
    Hold down the Ctrl or Shift key to select multiple specimens.
  7. Drag the selected specimens from the search results on the right to the intended storage container on the left.
    A red box will appear around the storage container.
  8. In the Specimen Position Selection window, do one of the following.
    1. Optional: Click Start Here and select the location in the storage container for the next step.
    2. Do one of the following.
      • To assign the specimen to a specific location in the container, select the location and click Put Here.
      • To assign the specimen to the next available location in the container based on the container's fill order, click Automatic.
      • To assign all specimens to the next available location in the container based on the container's fill order, click Auto All

      If multiple specimens are being assigned storage locations, you will be prompted for each specimen unless you click Auto All.

  9. When prompted, indicate if you want to adjust the volume, frozen date, or frozen time of the specimens.
    If you select Yes,
    1. Select the specimen to be modified.
    2. In the corresponding box, enter the adjusted volume, frozen date, or frozen time.
    3. Click Modify.
    4. After all changes have been made, click Save.
